Class #4

Whew.... that was a lot of info.  I am looking forward to the week off to do a little work.  I like all of the sites we've been learning about and can think of many different ways of using several of them in class.

I think making a Pecha Kucha will be challenging, yet fun.  I also am looking forward to the Prezi one where I get to "brag" about how cool my photos are.

All that being said... I still wish I had a little more time to play around with all of the websites we've been going to.

  1. I, too, wish we had time to play on more websites but feel as if I am so mired in the homework it's not possible. I finished my Pecha Kucha and spent approximately 15 hours on it. That is quite a bit of work to do on something I will probably never do again. I would have preferred some options that I could have chosen from so that I could better match applications to my professional teaching. I thought Prezi was cool, so I may introduce that one to my students and see what they can do.

  2. Well.... I must admit, I have decided to follow the books advice to story boarding. I am using note cards. I will then be scanning them in or taking pictures... whichever I get around to as my story board. I found that much easier to work with. Hopefully Louie will be ok with that. If nothing else, I have found working offline to be almost easier for some of these projects, at least in the planning stages.

  3. I think everyone is finding that the accelerated format does keep you moving, but using techniques like the note cards will certainly help keep it simple. I'm looking forward to seeing your work.

  4. Shawn,
I agree that the week off was nice, but I am realizing that we still have a lot left to do for class. I am glad we had to use the storyboard because that gave me a chance to step away from the computer and go "analog." Over break I also started my Pecha Kucha, but I still have much to do with it. The most challenging part of it that I have found is choosing which pictures to use!

  5. Shawn, I agree I wish we had more time to learn these programs. I am a bit nervous about the Pecha Kucha, I am just beginning to look at the voice of it. Seems like a big task to take on and not to mention my pictures are not the best but really revolve around one thing, my life and my kids. Time will tell how it is going to turn out.
